It has experienced many ups and downs over the years until today. During 2014, once again, Ukraine has been the scene of many conflicts. Many observers believe the roots of these tensions are the internal problems of ethnic groups in the country and some others say Ukraine is the confrontation scene of trans-regional powers such as United States of America and European Union with Russia. In some cases even this conflict is interpreted as the "new cold war". In this study, the main question is that what are the effects of Ukraine Crisis on the relations of United States and Russia? The research hypothesis is that this crisis –with intensification of tensions between the two countries in short and medium-term – won’t have a profound impact on the nature of the relations between the two countries. That is because geopolitical and geo-economics considerations in this region impede major powers from serious conflicts. اوکراین در اوت 1991 پس از فروپاشی اتحاد شوروی به استقلال رسید و تا امروز فراز و نشیب‌های بسیاری را در طول سال‌های استقلال خود تجربه کرده است. در سال 2014، بار دیگر اوکراین صحنة درگیری‌های بسیاری بوده است. بسیاری ناظران علت و ریشة این تنش‌ها را مسائل داخلی و بافت قومیتی این کشور می‌دانند. برخی دیگر اوکراین را صحنة رویارویی قدرت‌های فرامنطقه‌ای مانند ایالات متحدة آمریکا و اتحادیة اروپا با روسیه می‌دانند. حتی در برخی موارد از این درگیری‌ها به «جنگ سرد نوین» تعبیر می‌شود. این نوشتار در تلاش است تا به این سؤال اصلی پاسخ دهد که به‌صورت کلی، بحران اوکراین چه تأثیری بر روابط ایالات متحده و روسیه دارد؟ فرضیة این نوشتار این است که این بحران ضمن تشدید تنش‌ها میان دو کشور در کوتاه­مدت و میان‌مدت، تأثیری بنیادین و عمیق بر ماهیت روابط دو کشور نخواهد داشت؛ زیرا ملاحظات ژئوپلیتیکی و همچنین ژئواکونومیک در این منطقه به‌گونه‌ای است که قدرت‌های بزرگ را از درگیری‌های جدی باز می‌دارد. https://jcep.ut.ac.ir/article_54966_508a1aa144fc4d29784808944db58b5f.pdf
